Follow-up Comment #7, bug #53275 (project octave):

The QIcon::fromTheme framework is used for all other icons of the GUI but not
all platforms are supporting this. For the dock widgets the icnos were
designed in order to look similar to the ones that qt uses for dock widgets.

The light version of the close/dock button icons is for darker colors of the
title bar. The icons (black or white) are automatically chosen depending on
the title bar color. I think this is something that QIcon::fromTheme does not
provide.
