Follow-up Comment #4, bug #53246 (project octave):
Well, it's certainly not WYSIWYG, but that is modus operandi for plot graphics
(I've seen worse). I would add the amount of whitespace around the left/right
edges is excessive. If you are running Windows, you probably don't have
gnuplot, otherwise you could try
graphics_toolkit gnuplot
and see if that is better. I think "graphics_toolkit fltk" uses the same
output code as "qt".
