Details:

If I select text in the editor and try to drag it to another location in the
same window, the text will not be moved and there is a 'disallowed' icon that
comes up will dragging. This worked in 4.2.1. It is effectively a 'cut and
paste' operation when it works.

Maybe this is a 'feature' added since 4.2.1, and if so, then I'd like an
option in the preferences to allow drag and drop of text within the editor.
