Details:
Octave package "sockets" on Ubuntu has non-blocking recv() call using the flag
MSG_DONTWAIT. However, it seems that MSG_DONTWAIT is undefined in Winsock2
and thus recv(socket,length,MSG_DONTWAIT) does not work in Octave Windows.
Is it possible to add either a non-blocking recv() call, or a means to monitor
the number of bytes available on the socket?
