Follow-up Comment #3, bug #51784 (project octave):

I'm sorry for the hassle. I downloaded a fresh new version from the repo and
you're right, it does work. I don't know why it didn't work on a previous
build of mine (the code seems to be the same in the crucial parts). You can
close this bug.
