Follow-up Comment #15, bug #40668 (project octave):
One of the advantages to switching to checking only the low word for the magic
value 1954 is that the sign bit, which is in the upper word, will be ignored.
Thus, -NA and +NA would be the some thing to the isna function which would
resolve this bug report in addition to requiring one less equality comparison
operator.
