Follow-up Comment #19, bug #49559 (project octave):
Guillaume: I pushed your changes and added another that uses some new features
for num2hex and hex2num. Those functions can now work on integer types as
well as handle cell arrays.

I'm not sure what the intent is, but would it make sense to always keep the
keys stored in a cell array, at least internally? If so, there may be some
calls to cell2X or X2cell functions that could be eliminated.
