Details:

Dear, 

For my thesis I would like to work with Octave. However, it takes minutes
before the program starts and 9/10 times after starting it crashes (not
responding). Making it very impossible to work with it. 

Furthermore, I am not a Matlab user which makes it pretty hard to understand
how to install packages (I am familiar with R and Python though). Is there any
chance you have a (very) simple instruction manual somewhere online?
