Follow-up Comment #47, bug #49609 (project octave):
OK, that fixed it for me, too in current dev!
It fixed the immediate crash of the desktop, to be precise. Still having the
"problem" of Octave crashing after holding down Ctrl-C for a while. So that
seems to be another - much less severe - bug.
