Follow-up Comment #27, bug #48387 (project octave):
I attached a patch and the image I obtain for the Original example.
In order to test it you need to build the current snapshot of gl2ps [1], and
then bootstrap/configure/rebuild Octave using appropriate FLAGS, e.g.:
./bootstrap
./configure CPPFLAGS="-I/path/to/dev/gl2ps/ $CPPFLAGS"
LDFLAGS="-L/path/to/dev/gl2ps/ -lgl2ps $LDFLAGS"
make -j4
LD_PRELOAD='/path/to/dev/gl2ps/libgl2ps.so' ./run-octave
