Follow-up Comment #34, bug #48873 (project octave): After playing around with graphics_toolkit fltk demo area 2 print -GraphicsAlphaBits=1 tst1.png print -GraphicsAlphaBits=2 tst2.png print -GraphicsAlphaBits=4 tst4.png it seems like a value of 1 is the closest match to Matlab. I think it would also be a good idea to turn off aliasing for the directly produced formats like PostScript and PDF.
