Follow-up Comment #1, bug #48812 (project octave):
Did you type "graphics_toolkit('gnuplot')" in between step 2 and 3? Did you
see some gnuplot error messages appear in the terminal window? Do other plots
work? E.g., "sombrero()", some demos, etc.
It sounds like gnuplot might be waiting for more data of some sort. Octave
version 4.0.0 is getting pretty far behind now though.
