Follow-up Comment #29, bug #47527 (project octave):
Can you rerun the mxe-octave configure with the --enable-devel-tools
included.
After installing octave, go to the Octave 4.1.0 menu on the start bar and
select 'Bash Shell'
In bash, cd to the octave 4.1.0 start menu folder (on mine it ss at)
cd "/c/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Octave-4.1.0"
Then run the appid read command:
win7appid.exe "Octave (GUI).lnk"
and see what it prints.
