Follow-up Comment #14, bug #48172 (project octave):

Ok, so you're all on Ubuntu 14.04. Assuming you're building with OSMesa (i.e.
*not* using the option --without-OSMesa), do you see the following messages in
the build?

  GEN      doc/interpreter/voronoi.eps
error: __osmesa_print__: Depth and stencil doesn't match, are you sure you are
using OSMesa >= 9.0?
error: unhandled execution exception -- eval failed
  GEN      doc/interpreter/triplot.eps
error: __osmesa_print__: Depth and stencil doesn't match, are you sure you are
using OSMesa >= 9.0?
error: unhandled execution exception -- eval failed

This means the plot images are not created properly, even though the build is
not failing at this point. Then when it tries to build the octave.dvi or
octave.pdf, the included plots are not there.

And if you are building with --without-OSMesa, do the plots get created
properly and the docs build successfully?

There is a known issue with the Ubuntu 14.04 libosmesa6 package, so there's no
way to reliably build on 14.04 with OSMesa.
