Follow-up Comment #20, bug #47950 (project octave):

I agree with Mike's 2nd suggestion as well.

The current behavior is unacceptable as '[' and ']' are valid file name
characters on Windows.
I played a little with glob() and dir.m on both Windows and Linux but it still
isn't clear to me where the change should be made.
