Follow-up Comment #31, bug #45659 (project octave):
The FlexiBLAS project ( http://www.mpi-magdeburg.mpg.de/projects/flexiblas )
is an abstraction layer to the BLAS library to select a BLAS library during
runtime. FlexiBLAS can display vendor string and version info for the
currently selected BLAS backend, so may be their solution can also be used
here.
Matlab, at least under Linux, can handle changing the BLAS and LAPACK backends
via LD_LIBRARY_PATH and the version function returns the correct version
strings.
