Follow-up Comment #2, bug #46516 (project octave):
oops, sorry. attached is a screencap showing side-by-side of plots produced
with qt, gnuplot, and fltk (left to right). in the qt plots the red + is
always on top. In gnuplot and fltk the order follows the plot order
(subsequent plots always on top of earlier plots)
