Follow-up Comment #11:
This bug applies to an old, unsupported version of Octave (3.8.2). Much work
is being done right now on the development version of Octave on Mac OS and
reports on the mailing list are that it works much better. Please try a
development version of Octave and open a new report if there are still
problems.
