Follow-up Comment #14, bug #45610 (project octave):
I've compiled and tested Octave with this second patch (jul27) on both Windows
7 and Ubuntu 14.04.
The result is: It works totally fine on both OS :)
If you for example mark the text "ne3 line4 lin" on either OS, then after
pressing Ctrl+R you get "%line3 %line4 %line5 " as marked text, the line ends
are properly marked as well.
