Follow-up Comment #4, bug #45475 (project octave):

Hmm, this is an odd bug.  At first it sounded similar to a bug I'm recalling
with regard to the file dialog box taking 20 seconds on Windows (I can't find
it via search to see how that was resolved), but if the problem exists with
the --no-gui-libs option I doubt it is the same issue.

Can you think of anything you've done during installation that might be
unusual?  Installing as non-root in a system directory, something like that.
