Follow-up Comment #4, bug #44959 (project octave):

Hi,

What about showing the mouse coordinates as mouse tooltip? It would avoid
having to add a status bar at the bottom of Qt figures that are already
large.

I attached a preliminary demo patch to show how it would look. Can you test
and vote.
