Follow-up Comment #5, bug #45235 (project octave):

did not produce crashes.
after: pkg install -forge image
removing: imhist.m from /share/octave/4.0.0/m/image
pkg load image
both imhist and rgb2ycbcr were forking fine in few tests.
Getting the following warnings thought:
