Follow-up Comment #2, bug #44937 (project octave):

This is just to report an observation on llvm 3.4 and 3.5:
The current Fedora 21 "supports" both 3.4 and 3.5 being
simultaneously installed!

For example yum list llvm* shows:
Installed Packages
llvm.x86_64                                     3.5.0-6.fc21
      @updates
llvm-devel.x86_64                               3.5.0-6.fc21
      @updates
llvm-libs.x86_64                                3.5.0-6.fc21
      @updates
llvm34.x86_64                                   3.4.2-5.fc21
      @updates
llvm34-devel.x86_64                             3.4.2-5.fc21
      @updates
llvm34-libs.x86_64
3.4.2-5.fc21                         @updates

This results in, for example:
ls -l /usr/bin/llc*
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 114064 Dec 25 23:46 /usr/bin/llc
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 101168 Dec 22 09:22 /usr/bin/llc-3.4

It appears that this is a general rule: all 3.4 files
have a -3.4 appended!!!

I think that the technical term for this should be nonsense.
It is unclear how or if Octave might adapt to this, but
best not worried about until well after the 4.0 release.
