Follow-up Comment #1, bug #44916 (project octave): Hi, Thanks for your bug report. The Greek letters not being printed correctly is a known issue (see bug #42320). The fact that it works in svg format when using utf8 characters is because svg unlike eps (from which pdf and png are converted) does handle utf8 natively if the viewer does.
