@Mike: OSMesa can create bitmap images even without gl2ps:


sombrero;
img = __osmesa_print__ (gcf);
imwrite (img, "out.png");


So I think we should just disable the gl2ps path in __osmesa_print__. I've
attached a patch but can't test it today.
