URL: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?44625> Summary: Package install leads to error after untar Project: GNU Octave Submitted by: None Submitted on: Tue 24 Mar 2015 11:02:58 PM UTC Category: Octave Forge Package Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Incorrect Result Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Name: Tim hockswender Originator Email: address@hidden Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: 3.8.2 Operating System: Microsoft Windows _______________________________________________________ Details: Pkg install uses untar which uses mkdir. It attempts to create a dir under c:\User to which it has no permission. The mkdir fails but untar goes ahead to attempt an untar to a non-existing folder. This causes the install to fail. I would suggest a \tmp dir to be created from the root or just on the desktop. If there is a setting to change the target folder to other than c:\User, it would be helpful to have it in an install note. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?44625> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
