@Avinoam: Did you download a binary gs 9.15 built for Windows or did you try
adding a new ghostscript 9.15 to the mxe build project? In other words, are
you sure that it's the new version that fixes the problem, or is it the mxe
cross-compiled version of ghostscript that introduces the problem?
