Follow-up Comment #4:
Yes, the issue was fixed with changeset
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/0da2e7051778
in January 2014. Due to the regular merges of the gui-release into the default
branch, these changes are included in the default branch, too. A test with a
default build shows the same results as with a gui-release build: The issue is
not reproducible for me.
