Details:

Octave has problems to recognize my keyboard or at least, elements of it. 


for instance, move to left or right is not recognized or does not show any
reaction when tiping it. 


space, delete, and the characters work fine.


I get also a message (which is maybe related to this):

 I am using Mac OS 10.8.5

I installed octave using macports
