Details:

The axis line, tick marks, and tick labels should all be controlled by the
axis property 'xcolor', 'ycolor', or 'zcolor'.

With the gnuplot toolkit, only the ticklabels have their color changed.

Sample code:


graphics_toolkit gnuplot
plot (1:10);
set (gca, "xcolor", "r");
