Follow-up Comment #10, bug #42838 (project octave):

Thanks, ok I did that and I get the same plot, all black plot background with
only the axis tickmarks visible. EPS file from gnuplot 5.0rc1 attached.

This has not been reported to gnuplot as far as I know.
