Thank you Mike for the fast response!
Unfortunately, it did not fix the problem (qt-at-spi was not installed).
I just playes a bit around in an empty file:
- Entering a single caret works.
- Entering a^ works, too.
- Entering a^ b^ works for the first caret, crash with the second one.
- Entering a^ = b^ crashes, too.
- Octave did also not crash with dead chars.
But: Turning autocomplete off resolves the problem!
