Follow-up Comment #4, bug #42450 (project octave):
I don't think there's anything obviously different, except for the fact that
it's Lubuntu not straight Ubuntu. Could this be causing the issue?
Aside from the above, I do recall that prior to upgrade Octave would complain
about a bad nVidia driver setup (or that there were two installed, or
something like that - I can't remember exactly). This should be rectified now,
though, as I have installed the nVidia v331 driver from the main package
repository.
