Follow-up Comment #7, bug #40259 (project octave):

I believe the problem comes from the line 588 (valid for cset 9597e00ed2dd) of
__print_parse_opts__.m where "paperposition" is being changed wrongly since it
has been already set in accordance with "paperorientation" when orient was
run.

I'd offer the following patch to solve the issue.
