Follow-up Comment #1, bug #41179 (project octave):
1. It's "just" a warning an should not affect octave itself.
2. GUI (qt-based) is still experimental
3. The 3.8.0-1 is based on a older MXE version. Try 3.8.0-4 or a nightly
Version from http://mxeoctave.octave.org
Another option is to compile octave for yourself or wait until octave offers
official builds.
