Details:
After updating to 3.8.0 I encountered the following error:
octave:4> legend({'test'},'location','northeast')
error: invalid value = northeast
error: set: invalid value for radio property "location" (value = northeast)
error: called from:
error: /usr/local/share/octave/3.8.0/m/plot/appearance/legend.m at line 995,
column 11
Reason for this error: The strings package 1.1.0 was still installed and
overloaded the new strjoin core function with the incompatible version from
the forge package, so legend failed in str-joining the allowed values for the
location property. I only had the strings package installed to use strjoin, so
I do not need it any more and removed it from my installation - works for me.
But for those who want/need to keep using the package, strjoin should be
removed in a new release (soon), if the package doesn't get deleted/merged as
discussed on the maintainers mailing list.
