Follow-up Comment #3, bug #41328 (project octave):
indeed a few translation updates were lost,
which I'll report in more detail later,
but I think this is a separate issue.
for example, translation string "Passo adentro"
is present in the hg stable pt_BR.ts,
but it's not showing up in recent builds.
so I maintain this is a build issue,
likely related to the qm/ts regeneration.
