Follow-up Comment #1:
Matlab doesn't need confirmation, nor Freemat, nor (last time I looked long
ago) Scilab. Which doesn't mean this is a bad idea.
Anyway I'd say:
Only as a user preference that is off by default, perhaps combined with
offering to save the workspace as that is about the only thing that gets lost
when closing Octave.
(Release set to "dev")
