Follow-up Comment #3, bug #40892 (project octave):
It works for me on OS X 10.8, Octave 3.6.4 and control 2.6.1 as expected.
Which version of control are you using? Can you try
zero (G)
pole (G)
as well as
G.scaled = true
before calling sigma?
