Follow-up Comment #1, bug #40751 (project octave):
According to Matlab's documentation, cov (x,y) is equivalent to
cov ([x(:), y(:)]
and in Octave doing
x = reshape ((1:16).^2, 4, 4);
cov ([x(:), x(:)])
ans =
6.9315e+03 6.9315e+03
6.9315e+03 6.9315e+03
I don't know if this is a recent change in Matlab's behavior or not, but the
fix looks simple. The m-file can just be changed to use the new definition.
