Follow-up Comment #14, bug #40607 (project octave):

I suspect it only occurs in the GUI because when we build the GUI we link
against a lot more external libraries.  I think the linker is looking for a
function with the signature "minus (uint64, double)" and is finding something
that matches in the extra libs instead of the function we have created to
handle this.  But, this is just speculation.
