Oh, because of the embedded awk script?

Hmm, we have other things like this.

Maybe the embedded scripts should go in separate files so we can depend on
those instead and not have to depend on Makefile or Makefile.am, which could
change for many reasons not related to the files that are generated using the
embedded scripts.

I can take care of that.
