Follow-up Comment #1:

Thank you for your bug report. This has been a long-standing item to work on
and has actually just recently been fixed in the development version of
Octave. To get TeX support, you can test the development version of Octave or
wait until the upcoming 3.8.0 release of Octave. You will also have to use
fltk for plotting instead of gnuplot.
