Follow-up Comment #3, bug #39546 (project octave):

In the current devel system I do not see any problem with
zooming in or out on each subplot.

However, I did noticed another defect: turning grid
on/off either with the window menu button or at the
command line only acts on the right hand plot. (or,
the last subplot.)
And, grid() only accepts the string args "on or "off".
The manual says the form grid(HAX, ...) where HAX is an
axis handle is allowed. If this were allowed it might
work in this case.

So, it may make sense to change this report title or open a
new one.

I also tried using set(), but could not make it do what
is needed.
