Details:

I am sure I had been able to build doc/interpreter with texinfo 5 at one
point, but it no longer works for me. The command that fails and the error
message produced are:


makeinfo --html   -I ../../../default/doc/interpreter \
         -o octave.htp ../../../default/doc/interpreter/octave.texi
./system.texi:2890: superfluous argument to @end ifnotinfo: . (possibly
involving @seealso)


where srcdir=../../../default/doc/interpreter for my setup.
