Follow-up Comment #9, bug #39089 (project octave):

The gnulib sig2str.h header doesn't put the functions it declares inside an
'extern "C"' block.

The gnulib maintainers have been responsive to requests for adding 'extern
"C"' blocks to headers in the past.
