Follow-up Comment #52, bug #36732 (project octave):

Finally, I do not see the need for statements like
 X=sort(X,'descend')

is worth this much worry.

It would not be a good idea to introduce incompatible
behavior in interp1 in order to avoid the need for
2 simple lines of code.
