Follow-up Comment #1:
This works for me with Octave 3.6.1 on Kubuntu 10.04. I tried both backends.
The FLTK version is 1.1.10 and gnuplot is 4.4.0. I've attached a screen
capture which shows what I see. The text appears in different sizes and some
is normal and some is bold.
