Doug,

Are you sure you are at the tip?  'hg tip' reports what the tip of the
repository is, but that is not the same as where your local directory is.  Try
'hg id' to identify the current revision of your directory.

I am at revision 14317 on the stable branch and I can zoom correctly.  This is
on an Ubuntu Linux system.
