Follow-up Comment #1, bug #30532 (project octave):

As we are currently unifying the print() command for the backends we should
be able to handle this problem.

What I thinking is that we change the fontsize properties for the graphics
objects, output the image, and then change the fontsize back. Both gl2ps and
gnuplot should render a reasonable result.
